Jason White

Jason White started his law enforcement career with the Tulsa Police Department in 1998.  Jason spent the majority of his patrol years combating violent crime in the toughest parts of the city.  In February of 2000, Jason encountered an armed suspect that attempted to shoot him at point blank range in the abdomen.  Fortunately, the semi-automatic firearm did not have a round in the chamber.  This incident quickly taught Jason to always be prepared both mentally and physically while patrolling the streets of Tulsa.  A few years later, Jason again found himself in a deadly force confrontation when came face to face with a murder suspect.  Jason ultimately shot and killed the suspect after a ninety second shootout.

    

While assigned to patrol, Jason participated in over 3500 arrests many of which included apprehending violent and drug-related offenders.  Based on his aggressive patrol tactics, Jason was selected to join the Tulsa Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit.  The primary function of this unit is to target drug offenses, gambling, and prostitution crimes.  While assigned to this unit, Jason continued to excel by participating in hundreds of arrests.

    

In 2007, Jason was selected to join the Tulsa Special Operations Division, serving as a Crisis Negotiator.  During this time period, Jason has responded to dozens of incidents that he was able to diffuse by utilizing his exceptional communication skills. In addition to being a Crisis Negotiator, Jason is currently assigned as a Homicide Detective. He has assisted in processing over one hundred homicide crime scenes.   Jason is a certified instructor with the Oklahoma's Council for Law Enforcement Education and Training. Jason is currently an instructor at the Tulsa Police Academy, teaching Advanced Mental Health Response Officer Training, Active Listening Skills, Tactical Mindset-Officer InvolvedShootings, Crisis Negotiations Immersion for SWAT Team Commanders, and Basic Crisis Negotiations.
 
Jason also serves as an Adjunct Instructor at a local college, where he has taught an array of classes which have included, Policing Techniques-Interviews and Interrogations, Homeland Security, Introduction to the Criminal Justice System, and Forensics and Crime Scene Investigations.  Jason has served as a guest speaker at the Oklahoma Gang Investigators Association where he presented a segment on Gang Homicide Witness Difficulties, as well as a guest speaker for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Hostage Negotiators. Because he has a wide range of experience, Jason offers a fresh and common-sense perspective and innovative approach to investigating crimes. He introduces proven techniques and unique methodologies that will enhance the effectiveness of law enforcement professionals. Jason has taught to hundreds of local and state law enforcement officers from the State of Oklahoma with exceptional ratings.
