Patrick McMahon is a Lieutenant with the Charlestown, Rhode Island Police Department and has
been with the department for 24 years. He currently serves as the Departments Executive Officer and is
assigned to the Administrative Division, responsible for Prosecution, Investigations/Detectives & Records Management.
Lt. McMahon is the regional areas SWAT Commander and Chief of Emergency Medical Services. Lt.
McMahon sits on the Lt. Governor's Emergency Management Council for the State of Rhode Island as a sub-committee chairman
for Mass Casualty Incidents. He is also one of four Incident Commanders for the State's All Hazard Incident
Management Team.
Lt. McMahon holds a Master's Degree from Salve Regina University, Newport, Rhode Island in Justice Administration.
He is also a graduate of Bryant University & the FBI's Law Enforcement Executive Development programs.
Lt. McMahon was the Deputy Planning Section
Chief for the State of Rhode Island during “Operation Rhody Re-Location” where Rhode Island assisted
with the relocation of 500 victims from Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Shortly thereafter he was
deployed to Waveland, MS where he worked in the Emergency Operations Center and was the Intelligence Officer working for the
Urban Search & Rescue Teams who were out in the field locating displaced victims from the Hurricane.
